WYOMING, Pa. — Family, friends, classmates, and the Wyoming community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Olivia Jean “Liv” Kwiatkowski, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 23.
Liv’s sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved her most. While her life was far too short, her family says she filled every moment with laughter, love, and an unforgettable spirit that touched everyone around her.
Born on March 14, 2003, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Olivia was the beloved daughter of Heather Collins and Joseph Kwiatkowski. Known affectionately as “Liv,” she grew up in Wyoming surrounded by a close-knit family and a community that watched her excel both on the athletic field and in everyday life.
A 2021 honors graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Liv distinguished herself as one of the school’s most accomplished student-athletes. She earned the prestigious Iron Man Award for lettering in four different sports throughout her high school career, a reflection of her dedication, determination, and competitive spirit. She served as co-captain of the girls’ soccer team, competed in cross country whenever she was able, and participated in both the winter and spring track teams.
Following high school, Liv attended Misericordia University, where she continued pursuing her education before taking a year away from school.
Athletics were only one part of Liv’s vibrant personality. Her family remembers her as someone who loved singing at the top of her lungs—even if she joked she was terrible at it. She found joy in making people laugh, often embarrassing herself just to brighten someone else’s day. Her playful personality, quick wit, and endless sense of humor made her the heart of every gathering.
To those closest to her, Liv was much more than an athlete or a student. She was the light of her family, the peacemaker who brought people together, and the glue that held loved ones close. Her family says they choose to remember the laughter she created and the unconditional love she shared rather than the tragedy of her passing.
Olivia is survived by her parents, Heather Collins and Joseph Kwiatkowski; her twin brother, Liam; her older siblings, Madeline and Colin; her grandmother, Mary Kwiatkowski; aunts Edie Collins, Kathy Kwiatkowski, and Daine Kravetz; uncle Don Kravetz; cousins Tyler and Kyleigh Carey and Kinsley Kravetz; and countless friends who became family.
A Memorial Service celebrating Liv’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church in West Pittston, Pennsylvania. Friends may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. before the service. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no burial, and her ashes will be scattered in the places she loved most and dreamed of visiting.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Liv’s honor to the National Park Foundation, reflecting her love for adventure and the outdoors.
Olivia “Liv” Kwiatkowski will be remembered for her infectious laughter, compassionate heart, athletic determination, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.
